Praised for her “strength and serenity” (Le Temps), Ana María Patiño-Osorio has received international recognition as an exceptional conductor, noted for her wisdom, finesse, and profound respect for music.

Born in Medellín, Colombia, she will assume the position of Music Director of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra starting February 2026 and will be one of the recipients of the Dudamel Fellowships in 2025/26 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In April 2024, she gained international attention by winning the second prize, the audience award, and the jury prize at the Malko Competition for Young Conductors held in Copenhagen.

The current concert season marks her debut with several orchestras in Europe and North America. Ana María will tour the Basque Country with the Euskadi Orchestra and debut with the National Orchestra of Spain, the RTVE Orchestra, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, the Strasbourg Philharmonic, the Berlin Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester, the Arctic Philharmonic, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

In past seasons, she has collaborated with the Orchestre National Bordeaux-Aquitaine, the RAI Symphony Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, the Geneva Camerata, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, and the Bogotá Philharmonic.

Committed to working with young musicians, since 2015 she has been actively involved with the Iberacademy Orchestra in Medellín, collaborating with its co-founder and conductor Roberto González-Monjas on numerous projects. In October 2023, she conducted the Iberacademy Orchestra during the Mozartwoche in Salzburg.

The following year, she successfully led a European tour with the Peruvian Youth Symphony Orchestra alongside tenor Juan Diego Flórez, performing in Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna, Geneva, and Paris. Shortly thereafter, she conducted the orchestra of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

n 2022, she was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the first to hold the position, and worked closely with Jonathan Nott for two seasons until 2024. A finalist in the 2020 Solti International Conducting Competition with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Ana received the 2021 National Award for Best Conductor from the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and was awarded a conducting fellowship from the Dirigentenforum of the German Music Council in 2019.
