The pedagogical model of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra is a model that is developed in three phases: Sensitization, Musical Initiation and Orchestral Practice. These are programs sponsored by companies and focus on certain communities, it is not an open program.
Sensitization
The awareness phase It consists of a first approach to symphonic music through a didactic concert in educational institutions or communities that have not had any prior approach to musical training. During the concert, the basic concepts such as tone, timbre, pitch, intensity, dynamics, etc. are learned, as well as the different instruments of the Orchestra, their families and main characteristics. This hour and a half interactive concert where students have the opportunity to play percussion instruments and musical initiation is an introduction to the wonderful world of the Orchestra.
Musical Initiation
The initiation phase It is carried out in different schools within the framework of the complementary School Day. It is a training process where each student receives 4 hours of musical training in vocal practice, Orff instruments, Paper Orchestra and introduction to musical theory, all approached from the repertoire following the logic of the methodologies of collective musical practices.
Orchestral Practice
The Orchestral Practice Phase It is a process where each student receives, in addition to vocal training, training in a symphonic instrument that they have chosen. This training is collective in nature in order to promote not only the teacher's learning but also that of their peers.
