The performance of Orff's Triumphs, which was performed for the first time in the world, the staging of Carl Orff's three love cantatas, took place for seven days and an eighth for National Television.
1993
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony was performed for the first time, it was the first time a one-hour symphony had been played.
1995
It became Queen symphonic, with arrangements and direction by maestro Louis Clark, and then Beatles symphonic.
1996
The Orchestra takes the step towards professionalism and together with the two orchestras of Bogotá and Cali it forms the four professional orchestras in the country. From this moment on, the Orchestra begins to have sustained growth with great performances such as the performance of most of Mahler's symphonies; the interpretation of the symphonic poems of Richard Strauss; some non-staged but concert operas such as Semele by Händel and a work by Rossini directed by Andrés Orozco.
2002
Declared cultural heritage by the Council of Medellín and by the Municipal Administration of the City and has received countless decorations and recognitions from the Ministry of Culture, the Government and the city.
2011
Having performed most of Mahler's symphonies and Messiaen's Turangalila, works that few orchestras worldwide perform due to their technical complexity.

Nominated for the Latin Grammy in the Best Tango Album category with the album Gardel Sinfónico, a fusion with the Argentine singer Ariel Ardit.
