Colombia sounds like hope, freedom and brotherhood, but also peace and reconciliation. The Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra pays tribute to the sounds of our country with music by contemporary composers León Cardona, Fernando “El Chino” León, Mauricio Lozano and Lucas Saboya. The concert will feature the participation of the tiplista Juan Jose Giraldo as a soloist and the musical direction of the maestro John Paul Valencia.
Music invites us to reflect, to encourage dialogue and encounter with others, and to understand that identities and roots are diverse. In Colombia, over the years, different composers have taken the rhythmic bases of our regions and the experiences of their people as inspiration to create beautiful melodies. Filarmed brings a Colombian repertoire as a message of joy and hope, of peace and brotherhood.
