Free Music I Seasonal Concert
The Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra presents the concert “Free Music” that reflects the experiences and spiritual strength of its composers. Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 expresses the emotional freedom and heartfelt feelings of the German composer, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 symbolizes the freedom achieved after Stalin’s death, which is grotesquely represented in the work; its four movements transcend from tragedy to triumph.
Pianist Matan Porat has been hailed by the New York Times for his “magnificent sound and natural expression” and has performed at such distinguished venues as the Berlin Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, among others.
