Uncertain Concert

A year ago, the first case of Covid-19 was diagnosed in Medellín, and with it, the way we relate to the world changed. 365 days later, many organizations in the cultural sector have maintained themselves, grown, and promoted art “Born in Quarantine” through El Poder de la Cultura, an alliance between 16 organizations in the city that resulted from thinking of culture as a city project that is built, especially in the context of a pandemic, through the development of a joint programmatic agenda.

During the second half of 2020, powerful actions were carried out that mobilized the cultural sector of the region and contributed to its reactivation. As a result, it was possible to support illustrators, musicians, writers, dancers and cultural managers in times of confinement, a working group was created with entities of the sector to discuss and generate collective strategies around the role of culture in times of crisis, and its connection with the community was promoted through virtual and in-person artistic and cultural experiences.
