This is why it combines the traditional orchestral repertoire of different periods with symphonic versions of popular music as part of the strategy of social appropriation. In addition to having performed the most important cycles of romantic music, especially Mahler and Bruckner, the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra He has performed symphonic productions with artists such as Puerto Candelaria, Crew Peligrosos, Omara Portuondo, Choq Quib Town, Ariel Ardit, Los Petit Fellas, Lido Pimienta, Monsieur Periné, Gilberto Sanrarosa, among others. Additionally, he has stood out for staging audiovisual productions such as Colombia Magia Salvaje or Pixar in concert in collaboration with the Disney Foundation.
Important soloists such as Lang Lang, Evelyn Glennie, Martin Grubinger and Liviu Prunaru have accompanied Filarmed over the years performing works of great magnitude and significant technical difficulty. Among its guest directors it is worth highlighting Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Krystoph Penderecki, among others.
