I'm musician
In the 2017 version, film music was played, and in 2018, arrangements of works composed for symphonic music were performed. And on this occasion, a new exercise was developed that invited young people to compose, their creations were a reflection on what diversity means and who they are as musicians. At the concert, Fanfare for the Common Man, Adeste Fideles, Tradicional, Velo qué bonito, Salvaje and three original pieces by the young people from Soy Músico will be performed. Each group rehearsed for four weeks, and it all began with exploring each young person's interests to find out in which areas they would most enjoy participating in the orchestra. The music therapists were in charge of developing cognitive and motor skills in the young participants, in addition to awakening a sense of responsibility in the musicians.
In its last installment in 2019, the Overture I Am a Musician was performed, the first movement of Leopold Mozart's Toy Symphony, I come to offer my heart by Fito Páez, the soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean, Salvaje by composer Nicolás Soto and Adeste Fideles by John Francis Wade.
“Here we learn more than music, we learn to be with music. Thanks to this process I would like to be a musician”, Juan Guillermo Suaza, member of the music workshop of The Rehabilitation Committee.
