Updated call for supernumerary bank 2022

The Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra invites musicians interested in being part of the orchestra's supernumerary bank to read this call carefully. 

The Filarmed supernumeraries will be summoned to participate in those performances in which the orchestra's staff must be expanded, according to the needs of the repertoire and the agenda. Payment is made for service provided, with service understood as each rehearsal and concert in which the supernumerary participates; The value of each service will correspond to the rate that the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra provides for 2022.  

Candidate profile  

Professional musicians with a minimum of one (1) year experience as a musician in symphony orchestras. If you do not have a professional degree, three (3) years of experience will be required; The experience must be properly supported with certificates or hand-held programs.  

Interested persons must reside in Colombia. The Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra will not be responsible for any transfer that supernumeraries must incur.

Musicians interested in participating in the call for supernumeraries who do not have certificates of orchestral experience may attach, in the document link of the registration form, a letter of recommendation from their instrument teacher or from a recognized symphonic musician. for his work as a teacher, performer or musician belonging to a professional orchestra.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that the person who writes the letter of recommendation is a performer of the same instrument to which it is being applied in the call.

 

Stages of the call 

  • Registration and receipt of documents: December 10, 2021 to February 18, 2022. 
  • Documentation Review: from the February 21 to 24, 2022. 
  • Publication of the list of those eligible for live audition: February 25, 2022. 
  • Live audition: 22 as of March 25, 2022. 
  • Publication of results: March 31, 2022. 

1. Registration and receipt of documents  

 

Those interested in participating in this call must fill out the published registration form HERE , where they must attach the following documentation: 

 

  • Identification card. 
  • Certificates of academic training. 
  • Certificates of experience of at least one year working in an orchestra, for graduates. 
  • Experience certificates of at least three years if you do not have a professional degree. 

 

Note: Remember to answer all the questions and attach your link with all the requested documentation. Otherwise your application will not be taken into account. 

 

2. Documentation review 

The Orchestra will verify that the registrations and documents provided are correct and that they have been delivered on the established dates. Applicants who contain inconsistencies in the information reported will not be taken into account for appointment to live auditions. 

3. Publication of the list of those eligible for live audition 

Once the documentation review process has been completed, the people who have provided the complete documents and within the times established in this call will be summoned. This summons will inform you of the date, time and place where the auditions will be held.  

4. Live audition during the week of March 22-25, 2022 

The location of the auditions will be in Medellín. Participants who reach this stage must present the entire repertoire required in this call and will be evaluated on a scale of 1 to 100 by an internal jury appointed by the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra.

Participants who obtain a score equal to or greater than 85 points out of 100 will form a list of eligibles that will be published on March 31, 2022 on the Filarmed website.
