A new interpretation of a classic

In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid is reinvented to bring its story to the present day, exploring the dreams, challenges and expectations of today's children and teenagers. In this version, the Little Mermaid is not looking to win the heart of a prince, but to discover the world beyond what she knows. What adventures await her?

The show features the participation of 64 musicians from the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and 22 children from Cantoalegre, who will perform original songs fused with symphonic music, creating an immersive experience for the whole family. In addition, the production includes live illustration and scenography, integrating different artistic manifestations in a single performance.

A musical journey through the sea

The adventures of the Little Mermaid will be accompanied by a symphonic repertoire that evokes the depth and mystery of the ocean. From the ethereal atmosphere of Moonlight from Debussy to the majesty of the overture of Swan Lake Tchaikovsky's music will transport the audience to an aquatic universe full of emotions. Along with these pieces, the original songs of Cantoalegre, such as Wolf, Life is about to begin, Sea horse and The sea and us, will give voice to the characters and accompany every twist in the story of the Little Mermaid.

An event for the whole city

The Little Mermaid is a tribute to children's literature and an invitation to new generations to immerse themselves in the world of classic tales from a contemporary perspective. The Mayor's Office of Medellín and the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra invite families to enjoy this free presentation, which promises to be an unforgettable closing for the Medellín Children's Book Festival.
