An alliance that sounds throughout Antioquia

For Filarmed and Comfama Symphonic music is part of the universal heritage and cultural heritage of humanity. It is a legacy that is nourished by each era and that, in addition, has the possibility of exalting the feelings that unite human beings from different places in the world and from all times. 

The alliance Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and Comfama It arises with the objective of democratizing access to symphonic music and stimulating artistic qualification processes throughout the territory of Antioquia. Both institutions join forces to create this agreement. 

A manifesto 

This alliance recognizes the legacy of symphonic music as a universal language without geographical barriers, which has the virtue of taking us to know other traditions and cultures of the world, in addition to valuing emerging composers and artists, as well as local, national and global talents.  

This is an initiative that promotes curiosity about a musical aesthetic that all people can appropriate as part of their social and cultural dynamics.  

This alliance between Filarmed and Comfama has four areas of interest: training, circulation, appropriation and entrepreneurship. The result of these four views is a cycle that favors the growth, strengthening and competitiveness of each of the music actors in the city and the region.

From the training, The alliance views musical education as a right to which all children, adolescents, young people and adults can have access. This musical training opens a window to creative thinking, active listening and allows us to understand other types of artistic languages that give new meaning to human interaction.  

In circulation, the alliance has the purpose of bringing symphonic music to the entire territory under different formats and channels. It seeks to bring people closer to this musical aesthetic in parks, churches, theaters, educational and cultural centers in a natural way. It expands musical experiences for the public and enables other cultural and social habits for communities. 

On the axis of social appropriation, The alliance aims to give citizens the opportunity to know and enjoy the background of the world of a symphony orchestra: the diversity and richness of its instruments, the multiplicity of classical, modern, contemporary, current compositions and composers; the periods of music, the rituals and, in short, everything behind this world of symphonic music. 

Finally, with the component entrepreneurship, the alliance seeks to promote and accompany actors from all subsectors who work in the creation and production chain of symphonic music and, in the same way, all those who benefit from it. This way, more people benefit and the music sector in our territory is promoted.
