Filarmed provides free music education to over 800 families in Urabá’s banana-growing region, transforming lives through instrumental training, choral singing, and the development of social-emotional skills.
Since its founding, the Urabá Youth and Children’s Philharmonic Orchestra has directly impacted over 800 families in the banana-growing region of Antioquia, Colombia. Our free music education program strengthens communities, nurtures artistic talent, and creates opportunities for children and teenagers in vulnerable situations.

Our music initiation process includes ear training, music appreciation, reading and writing music, harmony, composition, and choral practice. Orchestra students learn to play symphonic instruments, take part in musical ensembles, and develop high-level artistic skills in Urabá, Antioquia.
Children’s and youth choir
Our music education program goes beyond instrumental technique. We implement specialized sessions to strengthen self-esteem, personal values, teamwork, and citizenship in children and teenagers. We also offer regular workshops for parents and caregivers, recognizing that family support is essential to the artistic and personal development of our participants.
