For eight years, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Medellín has demonstrated that music is more than art: it’s a powerful tool for social inclusion. Soy Músico provides professional musical training to neurodivergent youth, creating spaces for artistic development where each person can express their unique talent.
What is Soy Músico?
Soy Músico is the flagship inclusion program of the Filarmónica de Medellín that offers specialized musical training to young people with autism, Down syndrome, and other neurodivergences. Through music therapy and accompaniment by professional musicians, more than 30 participants develop musical, social, and emotional skills that transform their lives.

Our participants don’t just learn instrumental techniques. Through 10 months of annual training, they develop:

In 2024, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Medellín received the prestigious LEAD® Kennedy Center award, highlighting Soy Músico’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion in the arts. This recognition positions Medellín as a Latin American reference in cultural social programs.
