Music, that universal language that throughout time has been used to sing to lovers, to the land, to work, and to other human emotions, has become an instrument of reconciliation and forgiveness.
Victims of the armed conflict and peace signatories from various armed groups chose to use this language to heal the scars left by years of hostility. They came together to learn music, form a choir, and prepare songs.
The choir, which was born in July 2019, is made up of victims and individuals in the process of reintegration. Under the baton of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, it is seen as a project where labels like victim or ex-combatant have no place—what matters is not their past or origins, but the shared journey they are now undertaking.
