Scheherazade I Educational Concert
Two of the largest cultural institutions in Medellín, the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater join forces in 2022 to carry out the season “Do-Re-Mingo Fa-vorite“, a series of 4 concerts didactic with which the reunion of the families with its stage and its orchestra. They will be 4 concerts didactic with the stories from the Middle East of Schehertozade, the myth of The mothermount, the dark legend of The crybaby and the adventures of the Magpie ladrona.

Educational concert with music by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
For Sunday morning, the invitation is to enjoy the music and adventures of the family Scheherazade, and its Arabian Nights in an educational concert narrated by Daniela Ocampo.
The concert will transport us on an invisible magic carpet to those faraway places where genies emerge from lamps, birds speak, eagles carry heroes in their talons and ships sail through stormy seas… Yes, this concert will take us to the East, to cities with mosques with onion-shaped domes and streets full of people with turbans and veils on their faces; in those faraway places, when the sun sets and bonfires are lit, people entertain themselves by telling stories and tales.
The starting point of our carpet is the stage of the Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater. Placed on the music stands of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra is the most famous musical work set in the East of all those ever written. It was written by the Russian Rimsky-Korsakov, and is called Sheherazade, as she is the main character of a great book, where all the oriental tales that, throughout the centuries, have been told in the streets and markets, we are talking about Arabian Nights, the book of stories, of travels, of magic and fantasy.
