Carmina Burana

The Wheel of Fortune has toured, and this time the Medellín Philharmonic, the Piccolo, Iuventus and Ars Nova Cultura Sabaneta choirs, the soprano Eliana Piedrahíta and the baritone Juan Pablo Vélez, present Carmina Burana, the emblematic work of Carl Orff, with a powerful urban accent, accompanied by the hip hop from JKE of Crew Peligrosos and 4Eskuela.

The Medellin Philharmonic makes a recognition to the hip hop which for 50 years has shown social realities of the popular, just as the texts of the Middle Ages did. Carmina Burana; and as music has always done.

200 musicians on stage participate in Carmina Burana. The soprano Eliana Piedrahíta will embody present, creative and tender love, while the baritone Juan Pablo Vélez invites us to enjoy carnal pleasures during the brilliant spring; the choirs warn about the danger of excess and make social criticism, and the sound of the orchestra, with sensual contrasts, explores risk and fascination.
