Concert with Blanca Uribe

The extraordinary pianist Blanca Uribe performs, together with the principal string members of the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, the Quintet in A major, “The Trout” by F. Schubert.

“This concert joins Filarmed's initiative to make national talent visible, to recognize what is ours and remember our roots, and in this case a virtual concert is presented with Blanca Uribe, considered one of the most important pianists in our country. She has been the teacher of many piano students and talented musicians, who have followed her path for artistic training,” María Catalina Prieto, executive director

Music

The interpretation of the Quintet in A major, “The Trout” by F. Schubert, will be conducted by pianist Blanca Uribe, concertmaster Gonzalo Ospina, violist David Merchán, cellist Pavel Rusev and double bassist Ilko Rusev.

He Quintet in A major, composed in 1819, is one of the most exceptional and highly esteemed works in all of chamber music. Naturally, it should be noted that the fourth movement develops thematically on the lied The Trout (Die Forelle), composed by Schubert in 1817. Seen in itself, the title suggests crystal-clear pouring water, with clear rays of sunlight striking the mist of polished jugs, and a trout sheltering from the heat in the shade of linden leaves. These suggestions grow out of the music itself.
